Tor Boreas has departed to Home Port

Tor Group’s latest build, TOR BOREAS – a cutting-edge utility vessel – has now left Turkey for the United Kingdom.  Designed to support the offshore energy and marine civils sectors, the diesel-electric propelled TOR BOREAS hosts a large array of capabilities in for a vessel in the Workboat Code.  These include:

  • Dynamic Positioning

  • 4 Point Mooring

  • Gyro Stabilisation

  • Boulder Grappling – 13T offshore crane

  • Hydraulic A-Frame – 5T lift

  • Towing – 25T electric aft winch, 17TBP

  • 70 sq m of clear deck space

  • Moonpool

  • Accommodation for 12 passengers

  • Modular Installation for Dive and Survey Support Units

  • 15+ days Endurance.

Kemal Torlak, Tor Group’s CEO, made the following observation:

“It’s been a challenging build with the supply chain disturbances from Covid-19 still evident across the sector, but we are delighted with TOR BOREAS.  She represents both a new class of vessel for Tor Group and a new way of building, utilising modular assembly to enable more time off the slipway in a purpose-built facility.  We see a great future both for this initial vessel and others of her class.”

TOR BOREAS is available for bareboat charter or sale.  Please contact us.
